QR code generator

A QR code generator with 17 code types and real scan data

GoTinyURL's QR code generator makes codes for 17 types of content, from URLs and Wi-Fi logins to vCards, WhatsApp messages and calendar events. Point a QR code at a short link and it becomes dynamic: you can change the destination after printing and count every scan.

Capabilities

17 QR types

Text, URL, phone, SMS, email, WhatsApp, FaceTime, FaceTime audio, location, Wi-Fi, event, vCard, crypto, PayPal, UPI, EPC (SEPA) and PIX.

Brand styling

Foreground and background colours, gradients, dot styles, inner and outer eye styles, a centre logo and frames.

Editable after print

Connect a QR code to a short link and change where it goes whenever you like.

Scan analytics

Scans are counted as clicks on the short link, with country, city, device and time.

Bulk QR codes

Generate many QR codes at once on paid plans.

Print-ready

High-resolution downloads that stay sharp on menus, packaging and posters.

What is a dynamic QR code?

A dynamic QR code stores a short link instead of the final address. Scanning it opens the short link, which redirects to the destination. Because the redirect lives on the server, you can change the destination and count scans long after the code is printed. A static code stores the content directly and can never change.

How it works

How do you set up qr codes in GoTinyURL?

Choose the type, then Style it, then Download, then Track scans. Each step takes a few seconds in the dashboard at app.gotinyurl.com.

  1. Choose the type

URL, text, phone, SMS, email, WhatsApp, Wi-Fi, vCard, event, location and more.

  2. Style it

Colours, gradients, dot and eye styles, a logo in the middle and a frame with a call to action.

  3. Download

Export a crisp file for screens or print.

  4. Track scans

Link it to a short link to count scans by country, device and time.

FAQ

QR code generator: common questions

8 questions
Q01Are GoTinyURL QR codes free?

Yes. The free plan includes 10 QR codes with full styling. Paid plans include from 100 up to unlimited QR codes and bulk generation.

Q02Do the QR codes expire?

No. A QR code is just an image, so it never expires by itself. If it points at a GoTinyURL short link, it works for as long as that link exists in your account.

Q03What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?

A static code holds the content itself and cannot change once printed. A dynamic code holds a short link, so you can change the destination and track scans. In GoTinyURL, make a URL QR code that uses one of your short links to get a dynamic code.

Q04Can I put my logo in the QR code?

Yes. Upload a logo for the centre, choose the colours and the dot and eye styles, and add a frame with text such as "Scan for the menu". Keep strong contrast between code and background so phones can read it.

Q05Can I track how many people scan my QR code?

Yes, when the QR code points to a GoTinyURL short link. Each scan is recorded as a click with country, city, device, browser and time, so you can compare a poster against a flyer.

Q06Which QR code types are supported?

17: text, URL, phone, SMS, email, WhatsApp, FaceTime, FaceTime audio, location, Wi-Fi, event, vCard, crypto, PayPal, UPI, EPC (SEPA bank transfer) and PIX.

Q07What size should I print a QR code?

A practical rule is at least 2 cm (about 0.8 inches) wide for something scanned at arm's length, and roughly one tenth of the scanning distance for posters. Our QR code best-practices guide on the blog explains the maths.

Q08Can I make a Wi-Fi QR code for my guests?

Yes. Choose the Wi-Fi type, enter the network name, password and encryption, and guests join by scanning. The password is stored inside the code, so treat printed copies like the password itself.
